Our Client's

BOLT is committed to meeting the need of its diverse clients and we will take steps to identify the needs of our community and develop policies and procedures accordingly. We aim to ensure that the services we provide are accessible to all. We will take into account in particular, the needs of disabled clients including people with mental health problems and clients who are unable to communicate effectively in English, including those who are deaf. We will consider whether particular groups are predominant within our client base and devise appropriate policies / procedures to meet their needs.

This policy reinforces our commitment to providing equality and fairness to all in our employment and for our client’s and not provide less favourable facilities or treatment on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, ethnic origin, colour, nationality, national origin, religion or belief, or sex and sexual orientation.

Our Industry

BOLT identifies that training in certain hair types including Afro hair is not included in current National Vocational Qualifications. Our aim is to lobby this issue until it is changed and a more diverse learning culture is adopted by all training providers and education bodies providing hairdressing qualifications. We recognise the underrepresentation of Afro hair services within Wales, utilising our salons as education hubs, we will provide education workshops promoting a fair and diverse learning opportunity in all hair types. We will host specialists is Afro hair and invite local salons to educate themselves in this hair type including education in cultural appropriation for certain styling techniques .

BOLT will inform all employees that an equality and diversity policy is in operation and that they are obligated to comply with its requirements and promote fairness in the workplace. The policy will also be drawn to the attention of training providers, exterior education partners and job applicants.

Our policy will be monitored and reviewed  to ensure that equality and diversity is continually promoted in the workplace.

We are opposed to all forms of discrimination.

Sincerely,
